Village Council Vacancies
Members of village council are elected to four-year terms. However, a situation may arise whereby a council seat is vacated during a term.
Ohio Revised Code section 731.43 prescribes the process by which a vacated council seat is filled to complete the remaining part of a four-year term. Village Council has 30 days to appoint a replacement. If Council does not appoint a replacement, then the Mayor shall appoint the replacement.
To be eligible for a council appointment, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Be a registered voter;
- Presently live within the village;
- Must have lived in the village for at least one year.

- Drop it off at the village hall, 109 Harrison Street, during office hours.
